5 things you should outsource in business.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but...it’s okay to outsource it.

Running a business, no matter what size, is hard work. It takes all kinds of strength to keep pushing day after day towards your goals.
(I see you, you are doing amazing btw)

And while us ladies seem to always be capable of taking on more and more responsibilities, chances are what we do best isn’t the accounting, or being HR, or drafting up contracts or even managing social media - it’s being the face of our businesses! It’s bringing our dreams and ideas to life!

...but that doesn’t mean you have to do everything yourself (and nor should you!)

Investing in your business by outsourcing even a few of those tasks you aren’t trained for will not only jump your business to the front of the success queue, but it will let you spend more time being the dreamer, being the spark of joy and creation in your business, which will in turn help you to love what you do and have your customers feeling the same.

Create the space for you to lead your business with heart.

So here’s 5 things I recommend you outsource where possible.

1. Bookkeeping and tax returns

Don’t be like me. Don’t use a shoe box full of scrunched up receipts and call it “your accountant”.
If there is one solid piece of advice I can give to ANYONE thinking about starting a business it’s this- GET A BOOK KEEPER! or at the very least get yourself some tried and trusted book keeping software (eg, xero) and prioritise learning how to use it. And for heavens sake, find yourself an accountant who SPECIALISES in serving businesses like yours (trust me, this is the golden nugget of better tax returns for you advice).

  • 2. Social Media Management

We don’t all have the gift of the gab. And tbh social media content creation can get so exhausting, trying to keep your audience engaged, figuring out marketing, how to sell etc etc - it’s very easy to let it take over your life. So if it doesn’t come naturally to you, hire someone who kicks butt at it. Social media truly is such a powerful platform to give your brand voice and value, and to support you in creating the business of your dreams. But it takes skills to master. So this is definitely on the highly recommended to do list.

  • 3. Website content creation/copywriting

Don’t skimp on copy.

There are professional website copywriters for a reason. They are trained in search engine optimisation, they know how to (quickly and efficiently) create content that converts to sales, and how to best position your business in the online world so that you seem trustworthy and professional to prospective clients and customers. Unless you majored in english and marketing at university, hand this one over to a professional.

  • 4. Automating email marketing campaigns

Ok, so this one isn’t exactly outsourcing, but it is worth the time and energy to set it up (although you can definitely assign this task to your website creator, graphic designer, virtual assistant etc). From Mailchimp to Flowdesk, there are many awesome email automation companies out there, many of them have free trials or free versions, so you can try before you buy and truly understand just how much smoother your biz life can be with maximum automation.

  • 5. Branding Design / Artwork Creation

Well of course I was going to sneak this one in here! Standing side by side with copywriting, professional branding is hands down one of the most valuable assets that money can buy when it comes to your business. Don’t pay someone $25 on fiver for a logo and call it a day (for so many reasons I beg you not to do this), you will, as the saying goes, get what you pay for. The voice and face of your business (ie, the copy and the brand) are two of the most powerful tools you can invest in when it comes to building a successful business. And mindset makes three, but that’s for another post. x

HAPPY OUTSOURCING!
